INFORMATION DAY OF “HORIZON 2020” PROGRAM TOOK PLACE IN THE UNIVERSITY

The information day of the European Union Research and Innovation Framework Program “HORIZON 2020” took place in the Mirror Hall of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv on November 23, 2017. Representatives of national contact points operating in Ukraine on different thematic aspect presented new work programs for 2018-2020 and discussed practical issues of participation.

The Vice-Rector for Research, Roman Gladyshevskii addressed the participants of the event with a welcome speech. He emphasized the importance of the participation of Ukrainian scholars in such projects, as they provide a unique opportunity to be engaged in the most up-to-date world research, receiving proper funding from the EU.

The coordinator of the Project at Lviv University, Oksana Zaremba, talked about the concept of the “HORIZON 2020” Program with a focus on the types of contests, the peculiarities of filing applications. Introducing the new work program for 2018-2020, Oksana Butkovskay focused on the topic “Future and New Technologies”, which involves the work of three related blocks of contests: FET Open, FET Proactivé and FET Flagships. Lesia Garasym briefed the participants on the issues of migration, technological transformation and modern management, relevant in the direction of “Inclusive, Innovative and Smart Societies”.

The invited representatives of the national contact points described the most relevant topics of the competitions in various areas, in particular: “Actions of Maria Sklodowska-Curie” (Galyna Lazko), “Secure Societies: Protecting Freedom and Security of Europe and Its Citizens” (Nadiya Tkachuk), “Energy” (Arthur Voronych).

Lyudmyla Kryvoruchka and Valentyna Andrushchenko reviewed the aspects of participation and application forms in practice.
