Representatives of the University of Computer Sciences and Skills (Lodz, Poland) paid an official visit to Ivan Franko National University of Lviv on 23 May 2016.
During the meeting of Vice-Rector for Research, Teaching and Informatization Vitaliy Kukharskyi with Director General of the University of Computer Sciences and Skills Przemyslaw Kowalsi, the issues of establishing academic cooperation between the universities were discussed.
The Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics Ivan Dyyak, the Head of the International Department of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Liubov Chapliak and also the representative of the Rector for International Cooperation of the University of Computer Sciences and Skills Vitaliy Koloyartsev participated in the meeting.
Vice-Rector Vitaliy Kukharskyi was talking about the cooperation of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with the universities of Poland, Germany and Italy, namely within the programme Erasmus+, as well as about successful international academic exchange of students and teaching staff.
Przemyslaw Kowalski said that the University of Computer Sciences and Skills is an important centre for learning professional skills in the sphere of computer sciences. At present, about two hundred Ukrainian student are studying at this educational institution, who, together with their Polish colleagues, stress upon the prospects of cooperation with Lviv University.
Among the main areas of cooperation, which should be paid particular attention to, according to the Polish colleagues, there are academic exchanges and launching common educational programmes. According to Przemyslaw Kowalski, such tradition could become useful for Ukrainian and Polish colleagues, since both universities are reputable establishments in the sphere of training IT-specialists.
Thus, during the meeting the parties reached an agreement on working out certain steps for establishing effective Ukrainian-Polish academic cooperation.
