Priorities of cooperation between Lviv University and Gdansk Polytechnic

On June 16, 2017, Rector of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk, Vice-Rector for Research, Teaching and International Cooperation, Maria Zubrytska and Vice-Rector for Research, Roman Hladyshevsky, met with Rector of Gdansk Polytechnic, Jacek Namiesnik.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian and Polish colleagues discussed prospective directions for expanding cooperation between the Universities as well as shared their experience in improving education and research.

In particular, they discussed the possibility of conducting M.Sc. internships at Gdansk Polytechnic, the development of joint training courses for masters and postgraduate students, and joint student and postgraduate research at the Center for Nanotechnologies of Gdansk Polytechnic. The participants of the meeting also discussed the prospect of introducing dual diploma programs and the possibility of introducing joint certification programs.

Jacek Namiesnik gladly responded to the suggestion of representatives of Lviv University about the possibility of conducting research at the spatial visualization laboratory of Gdansk Polytechnic. He states that Polish colleagues are ready to provide students and researchers of Lviv University with an opportunity to visit and work in this up-to-date laboratory.

The Rector of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk thanked the guest for his fruitful cooperation and expressed his hope for further development.

The cooperation between the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and Gdansk Polytechnic has been running since 2004. In particular, the universities actively interact within the Erasmus+ academic mobility program, conduct joint research in the field of nanomaterials, materials engineering and computer modeling of materials, publish joint articles in scientific journals that are part of science-computer databases, hold common conferences and so on.
