REPRESENTATIVES FROM 15 COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD TAKE PART IN THE SUMMER SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER MODELING

The University has started the Summer School in mathematical and computer modeling for students of master programs MathMods and InterMaths. 25 students from 15 countries take part in the School’s work. This summer the students will complete the magistracy of the universities of L’Aquila, Hamburg, Barcelona, Nice, Gdansk, Katowice and Lviv.

The official opening of the School took place on June 19, 2017. Participants were congratulated by Vice-Rector for Research, Teaching and International Cooperation Mariya Zubrytska, Director of the Department of Engineering, Informatics and Mathematics of the University of L’Aquila Bruno Rubino and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics Ivan Dyyak.

During the School, students will listen to a series of lectures delivered by the staff of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, get acquainted with the history and modernity of Lviv University, and will also be able to learn Lviv and Ukraine. Also, the program includes lectures by experts from SoftServe, which will share the experience in this industry.

The purpose of the School is to deepen students’ knowledge of the use of computers for various complex processes modeling. Since the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics has a good tradition of scientific research and training of skilled personnel in this field, the place of the summer school was chosen not accidentally.

The school will last until June 24, 2017.

It is worth mentioning that Lviv University is an associate partner of MathMods and founder partner of InterMaths Consortiums. Professor Volodymyr Melnyk, Rector of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, signed an agreement to create an InterMaths Consortium during a meeting with Professor Bruno Rubino, Director of the Department of Engineering, Informatics and Mathematics at the University of L’Aquila.
