June 14, 2018, at the Faculty of Faculty of Pedagogical Education in Lviv National Ivan Franko University a 3-day workshop for teachers – members of the international project “Improving teacher training for applied studies in the field of vocational education” finished its work. The project was implemented within the framework of the Erasmus + program under the direction KA2: “Development of the potential of higher education”.
Ukrainian partners, teachers of Kyiv National Economic, University Vadim Hetman, Institute of Professional Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv took part in the seminar. The organization of the workshop was a responsibility of project participants from the University of Lviv, namely the dean of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education Gertsyuk DD, and associate professors of the Department of General and Social Pedagogics, Goruk N.M. and Ravchyny T.V.
The main purpose of the seminar is to familiarize teachers of higher educational institutions of Ukraine with European experience in the development of special professional education, in particular, the organization of training, psychological and pedagogical support of persons with disabilities in mastering professional qualifications in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, discussing the issues of protection of rights, rehabilitation and employment of people from disability in Ukraine.
The seminar opening started with the meeting of the Erasmus + project participants with representatives of the authorized bodies of Ukraine in the field of protection of the rights of persons with disabilities. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy, State Rehabilitation Institutions, as well as teachers of the Department of Correctional Pedagogy and Inclusion of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education who are involved in conducting an experimental study of the organization of the training of assistants of the teacher of vocational education of people with special needs.
General Director of the Directorate Directorate for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine Alla Onupriyenko made an analysis of the problems and prospects of providing rehabilitation services, employment of persons with disabilities. Director of the Center for the Complex Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities “Galicia” (Lviv) Hryhorii Dunass disclosed the peculiarities of legal, psychological and pedagogical support of persons with different levels of disability in the process of their employment in the western region of Ukraine. In the speech of Roman Shtogrin, Director of the Center for Complex Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons in Podolia (Vinnytsia), the effectiveness of using the appropriate mechanisms and various methods, methods of organizing social support of people with special needs in the process of employment was substantiated on the basis of practical experience.
Head of the Department of Correctional Pedagogy and Inclusion, Professor Kateryna Ostrovska and professor of the same department Igor Ostrovsky informed about the content, ways and prospects of preparing the assistance of the master of production training of people with special needs at the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of Lviv University in the context of the tasks of the Erasmus + project. Participants were able to see and feel some achievements in the implementation of these objectives in the area visiting an experimental center for vocational rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities at the Pedagogical Faculty.
Participants of the workshop learned about modern approaches to the organization of vocational training of people with special needs in Germany, in particular with the features of transfer-oriented learning, development of reflective thinking by means of the portfolio, which were presented in the presentation of the professor of the University of Constanta (Germany) Liana Platz. Rawatta Burhart, a teacher of the same university revealed the ways and methods of counseling, compensation of disadvantages of students with disabilities and chronic diseases, the application of the consulting concept, oriented to the development of personality. The teacher of a specialized school in Zurich (Switzerland) Armin Platz as an example of an institution highlighted the particular organization of vocational training for persons with disabilities, including the development of their needs and abilities to lead an independent life. Professors of the University of Valencia (Spain) Fernando Maruenda developed a comprehensive presentation of Ukrainian teachers on the vocational education system for people with disabilities in Spain. He also acquainted the participants with the theoretical approaches and practical ways of organizing vocational training for people of the specified category in accordance with the needs of the labor market.
The seminar of the teachers of the Erasmus + project in Lviv was held in an atmosphere of fruitful dialogue, an exchange of views, a search for a common vision of the solution of topical issues of vocational education.
