The establishment of the system cooperation between higher educational institutions, the National Bank and business representatives will promote high quality training of the graduates in higher school who will be able to develop Ukrainian business efficiently and transparently after getting valuable experience and working in the National Bank.
It was discussed during the meeting of the Rector Volodymyr Melnyk with the Deputy Governor of the National Bank Dmytro Solohub on February 11, 2016.
“We have powerful scientific schools which have gained high reputation not only in Ukraine but all over the world as well. They are mathematic and economic schools in particular. The graduates of our university work both in the structure of the National Bank and diplomatic corps and they hold high government positions indicating about the powerful human potential of the professorial and teaching staff of the Lviv University as well as the quality of specialists’ training who are competitive in the labor market”, – the Rector of the University noted.
The Deputy Governor of the National Bank Dmytro Solohub emphasized on the exceptional role of the universities in the process of implementing reforms that was certainly connected with updating all spheres of the banking system. Thus, according to Dmytro Solohub, it would be very difficult to do without the support of the leading universities of Ukraine. “We need new highly qualified people. We are ready to offer our assistance to provide an inextricable link between theoretical knowledge of students and reality”, – he said.
The development of financial literacy of the society is one of the directions of the Central Bank of Ukraine activity that provides the encouragement of the citizens to take part in the efficient management of their own budget, make confident and balanced decisions according to life situations as well as reformat research work. Therefore, the Deputy Governor of the National Bank drew the meeting participants’ attention to the need for joint scientific activity of the National Bank and Lviv University as a necessary component of the system cooperation of the parties.
The Dean of the faculty of economics Rostyslav Mykhaylyshyn and the Dean of the faculty of finance and business management Andriy Stasyshyn proposed the Deputy Governor of the National Bank to start the cooperation in the sphere of theoretical and methodological principles of teaching economic disciplines that provides joint work on curricula, guest course of lectures and participation of the National Bank experts in the State Examination Boards.
At the end of the meeting the participants of the dialogue expressed the hope that the close cooperation between the higher educational institution, the National Bank and business representatives would be established through joint efforts in order to form necessary skills for professional competence of all participants of the process of developing reliable economic system of Ukraine.
