THE UNIVERSITY HOSTS TWO INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES “FUNCTIONAL AND NANOSTRUCTURED MATERIALS” AND “PHYSICS OF DISORDERED SYSTEMS”

On September 25, 2017, the ceremonial opening and plenary session of the XIV-th International Conference “Functional and Nanostructured Materials” (FNMA’2017) and the VII-th International Conference “Physics of Disordered Systems” (PDS’2017) took place in the Assembly Hall of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

The conference was congratulated by Roman Gladyshevskii, Vice-Rector for Research, who noted that the scientific meeting is a positive result of cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish scientists.

Having briefly acquainted with the history and scientific traditions of Lviv University, the Vice-Rector emphasized that now this institution is one of the best universities in Ukraine with a high level of scientific development and significant achievements of scientists.

“The theme of the conferences is extremely important, since the issues addressed concern the most relevant scientific developments. I wish all fruitful discussions so that the conferences brought new ideas and opened up prospects for further cooperation”, appealed to the participants Roman Gladyshevskii.

The Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Petro Yakibchuk, congratulated the participants saying that the results of the conferences will enrich the world science and will be useful for students and scientists of Lviv University.

Also, the Professor of the Gdańsk University of Technology (Poland) Jaroslaw Rybicki joined the congratulatory words.

The conferences continue their work on September 26, 2017 in Yaremche (Ivano-Frankivsk region). During the scientific sessions, scientists will discuss the problems of photon and optoelectronic materials, nanoscale and micro-sized materials for electronics; discuss the physics and technology of nanostructured semiconductors and superconductors, nanobiotechnology, the structure of disordered systems, and others.
