The aim of dissertation research is to investigate the impact of ITT upon
economic growth. The evolution of classic and modern views on the formation
and development of ITT was illustrated. A model of the decision to purchase the
technology was offered. The theoretical and methodological approaches of eco-
nomic growth and the place of ITT for economic growth were identified. The
classification of factors affecting economic growth was offered.
Analyzing the relationship between the level of FDI in Ukraine from dif-
ferent countries and the labor productivity in these countries were studied the
technology transfer in Ukraine. It was found that the most productive partners of
Ukraine (including geographical proximity) are EU countries (Austria, Poland,
Italy and Germany), so most logical is technology transfer from these countries
and less productive partners are Russia and USA. The impact on the efficiency of
ITT and a high level of well-being in different countries using economic and
mathematical models of production function analysis was defined. The analysis
classified countries into 4 groups – “advanced passive”, “advanced active”,
“backward active” and “passive backward”, according to involvement in the
processes ITT and the achieved level of economic development.
The results of the comparative analysis of the marginal productivity of
capital of different origin to Ukraine, Hungary, Israel and the United States (rep-
resenting different 4 groups) shows that in the case of Ukraine, Hungary and
Israel foreign capital is clearly better performance than internal, whereas in the
case of the US is not can make such conclusions. Therefore Ukraine should be
active recipient of international technology, as it has made Hungary and Israel,
while the United States can take “passive” position because of its internal tech-
nology is not inferior to foreign capacity. Methodical and practical recommenda-
tions for Ukraine in the field of regulation of ITT were suggested.
