Information on the thesis

This thesis is dedicated to the investigation of ecclesiastical and socio-political activities of Fr. Tyt Voinarovskyi. Based on archival materials, periodicals as well as published primary sources and scholarly works, it studies the circumstances of the priest’s childhood and youth; considers the views of his contemporaries on the character and activities of the priest. The thesis analyses his pastoral work and  covers his work as the general administrator of the metropolitan estates. It ascertains the role of Fr. T. Voinarovskyi in parceling the large landed property and characterizes his work in economic, cooperative and financial institutions. This thesis also explores political activities of Fr. T. Voinarovskyi, namely his being  an ambassador to Austro-Hungarian State Council and a member of Ukrainian National Democratic Party. Moreover, it investigates the nature of his work in Ukrainian cultural and educational societies as well as charitable activities of the priest.
