Foreign trade cooperation between Ukraine and East Asia countries in the context of globalization

Annotation

The thesis is devoted to research of theoretical and practical aspects of trade cooperation between Ukraine and East Asia countries in the development of globalization processes. Based on analysis of basic parameters of economic cooperation and geo-economic strategy determined place of East Asia, which include China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, in the structure of Ukraine’s foreign policy. Discovered basic tendencies and problems of foreign trade cooperation, identified domestic products, most competitive in East Asia countries markets. On the basis of conducted econometric model of foreign trade cooperation of Ukraine with East Asia countries and singled out the most significant positive and negative factors affecting the development of cooperation between certain countries. Specifically, found that GDP per capita in East Asia has a negative impact on the growth of Ukrainian exports to these countries, and positive to the increase of import.

Analysis of the relations effectiveness on the basis of foreign trade indicators such as index of comparative advantages, complementarity index of foreign trade, export similarity index revealed characteristic features of foreign trade cooperation between Ukraine and Eastern Asia, and confirm the potential for further economic cooperation.

Conducted research also made possible to outline trends and determine quality characteristics of foreign trade cooperation and create deeper targets for further cooperation. Also indicates the importance of Ukraine’s accession to transport and logistics project “One belt, one road” initiated by China. The aim of medium term to Ukraine can be defined as the expansion and diversification of foreign economic relations and opening of alternative markets to increase exports of Ukrainian goods and services and for foreign investment promotion.
