Annotation

The dissertation is devoted to the complex analysis of the press of the Donetsk
region during the period of independence of Ukraine (19912012). The imitation of
global and national tendencies in the development of printed editions of the studied
territory is organically combined with purely regional factors, which become crucial
in the process of forming a segment of printed periodicals in the information space
of the region. Development of print media in the period of 19912012. takes place
in accordance with the specifics of the study area, reflecting the state,
transformational changes and trends in the development of the social life of the
region. The emergence and development of individual groups of editions is
conditioned by increased interest in certain spheres of public life, outlining the
topical problems of our time. The formation of the segment of periodicals is in
accordance with the development trends of multi-vector social life in the region
under study and is in line with current public demands.
The first section of the «Press of the Donetsk region as a subject of scientific
studies» analyzed journalistic works devoted to the press of Donetsk region in 1991-
2012, systematized and summarized other sources; the theoretical principles of the
typology of periodical printed publications as well as the scientific foundations of
genre identification of journalistic texts are considered.
The second section «Typological characteristics of printed periodicals of the
Donetsk region of 19912012» provided a general description of the printed
information space of the region (separately analyzed by the press of national
minorities, religious, specialized “marine”, cultural-educational and sports
publications, and almanac journalism); the place of prepaid printed publications in
it is determined.
In the third section «Tools for the integration of local and regional print media
into the national and world information space», the activities of specialized
organizations and institutions for cooperation with journalists in the Donetsk region
were analyzed; The characteristics of the state of dissemination of information about
printed mass media of the oblast through the coverage of their activities on the pages
of the all-Ukrainian magazine «Journalist of Ukraine» (20052011) were given; the
readership priorities of the periodical printed editions of the Donetsk region are
determined.
