The regular issue of the Ukrainian Literary Studies offers a number of case studies elucidating topical issues of present-day Ivan Franko Studies. Main line lies in textual interpretation of I. Franko’s works, and highlighting of the writer’s literary contacts and the scholar’s contribution to the development of linguistics, folklore studies and translation studies. There is a special section presenting unrenowned materials (pieces of fiction, scholarly works and letters).

This volume of “Ukrainian Literary Studies” continues traditional researches on Franko’s works (hermeneutics of the text and the text in the broad context, publications) as well as expends the themes of studies with new measures (translating comparativistics, linguistic aspect, reviews, jubilees). In the issue one can find the names and the articles of both famous scholars and “new minds” (Franko’s term). All the authors of the articles endeavor to make studies within modern literary concepts and theories.
