Plasmid pSET152 was transferred by conjugation from Escherichia coli S17-1 to S. globisporus 1912 and S.kanamyceticus I and integrated into (jC31 attB sites of chromosome by site specific recombination, at high frequencies (10-5 to 10-4 per recipient). Transfer was mediated by the plasmid RP4(RK2) transfer function in E.coli, and oriT ftinction located on pSET152. Exconjugants containing inserts at the jC31 attB sites were stable in the absence of antibiotic selection.

Key words: streptomyces, antibiotic, intergeneric conjugation.
