It is shown that histidine containing dipeptide carnosine (b-alanyl-L-histidine) is prevented the degradation of mioglobin mRNA at the hemic hypoxia induced by sodium nitrite. This fact is explained by antioxidant properties of carnosine.

Key words: myoglobin mRNA, carnosine, hemic hypoxia.
