MORPHOFUNCTIONAL CHANGES OF YEAST Candida pseudotropicalis CELLS DURING DIFFERENT CULTIVATION CONDITIONS S.Gudz, S.Gnatush, I.Rusyn, A.Kulachkovsky, O.Moroz Ivan Franko National University of L'viv, Hrushevskoho st. 4, L'viv 79005, Ukraine e-mail: biolog@franko.lviv.ua Some morphological peculiarities of lactose-assimilating yeast Candida pseudotropicalis cells during aerobic and non-aerobic utilization of lactose were assayed. Differencies between biomass accumulation, viability, lactose assimilation, ethanol formation, induction of ?-galactosidase and key glyoxysomal enzyme, isocitrate lyase, synthesis were investigated. Distinctions in assembly and function of microbodies, mitochondria, vacuoles and other intracellular structures under conditions of different provision of by oxygen culture revealed by electron microscopy and biochemical methods. Key words: glucose catabolite repression, lactose, ethanol, ?-galactosidase, isocitrate lyase, glyoxysomes.
