Hordii Ivan Franko National University of L'viv, Hrushevskoho st. 4, L'viv 79005, Ukraine, e-mail: biolog@franko.lviv.ua We investigated the influence of L-arginine and nitric oxide synthase inhibitor L-NNA on condition of mitochondrial calcium capacity in the liver of Wistar rats with different resistance to hypoxia by using such substrata of energy support: succinic, alpha-ketoglutaric acids in stress conditions. It was shown that L-arginine injection reduces mitochondrial calcium capacity in low resistance rats by using succinate and alpha-ketoglutarate. NO-synthase inhibitor L-NNA limits effects of L-arginine influence on these processes. Key words: L-arginine, NO-synthase blockator L-NNA, calcium mitochondrial capacity.
