PRESENT CONDITION OF THE ZOOCENOSIS OF THE WESTERN POLISSYA

       Present condition of zoocenosis of the Western part of Volynske Polissya is described in the paper. The greatest of the examined territory is occupied by the Shutsk National Park. Rich diversity of mollusk species was found in the Western Polissya, especially in Svitjaz, Pisochnye, Lutsymer and Tchorne lakes. The 343 species of vertebral animals were found in this region. Among them: 30 species of fishes, 12 species of amphibias, 7 species of reptiles, 250 species of birds and 44 species of mammals. There are 29 Red Data Species here. These peculiarities show the unique zoocenosis of Western Polissya, actuality of its protection and rational use.
