PRESENT STATUS OF BADGER (Meles meles L.) - POPULATION ON THE TERRITORY
OF THE WESTERN UKRAINE

Analysis of the present status of badger-population on the territory of the Western Ukraine was made on the basis of recent five-year observations. Obtained results showed about the stable status of badger-population in the Western Ukraine, except territories of Volynske Polissya and high-mountainous regions of the Carpathians. Primary analysis of forest types make it able to determine the ecological areal of the badger in the Western Ukraine.
