GREEN SULFUR BACTERIA WHICH ARE PRESENT IN
STORAGE LAKES, DRAIN RIVERS AND RESERVOIRS
AROUND YAVORIV SULFUR DEPOSIT

The aim of our research is to investigate the peculiarities of metabolism of Green Sulfur bacteria which are present in storage lakes, drain rivers, and reservoirs around Yavoriv sulfur deposit. The major problem is hydrogen sulfide toxic water that permanently fills the invalid sulfur quarry. According to our results, we assume that pure culture of green sulfur bacteria is obtained. After identification we presume that we obtain Pelodiction luteolum. The next tasks are: to investigate the nature of their pigments using the cells that we selected, to investigate the special features of metabolism of the selected cuture. These investigations will be useful for us as a key to solve Yavoriv ecological problem, about purification of water from H2S.
