In 1972 graduated from the Economics Department of Lviv State University. Starting that year he worked as a political economy department assistant. In 1974-1977 studied on the postgraduate level and in 1977 defended his candidate thesis "Complex Work in Terms of Modern Capitalism".
From 1978 works as an associate professor and since 1998 - a professor of the economic theory department. Delivered a lecture course on the Ukrainian economy and transition economy during two semesters of 1995 in Kansas University (USA), also presented his research papers in Michigan University (1993), Wayne University (1994) and George Washington University (2001).
Professor Panchyshyn is an author of a monographs: "Cost Relations in Terms of Modern Capitalism" (Lviv: Svit, 1990) "Macroeconomic Analysis of Commodity Form of Production" (Lviv, 2004). Under his scientific supervision 7 monographs, textbooks and manuals were published. Extremely popular among students is his "Macroeconomics" (K.: Lybid', 2001) and among high school students "Economics".
Professor Panchyshyn is a scientific editor and one of the translators, who translated 11 well-known textbooks on macroeconomics, microeconomics, money and finance theory, including "Macroeconomics" (K.: Osnovy, 1995. - 572p.) and "Microeconomics" (K.: Osnovy, 1998. - 676p.) of the economics Nobel Prize winner P. Samuelson; "The Economics of Money, Banking, and Financial Markets" by F. Mishkin (K.: Osnovy, 1998. - 963p.), "Macroeconomics" written by G. Mankiw (K.: Osnovy, 2000. - 589p.) and other.
Professor Panchyshyn is a specialized council D35.051.01, for scientific degree of a doctor (candidate) of economic sciences acquisition, scientific secretary in Lviv Ivan Franko National University.
