Zinoviy Vatamanyuk

Âàòàìàíþê dzíîâ³é Ãðèãîðîâè÷Head of the Economic Theory Department. Candidate of economic sciences, professor. After graduation from Lviv State University (1961) Zinoviy Vatamanyuk was working at the department of political economy. During 1967-1971 continued his studies on the postgraduate level and in 1971 defended candidate dissertation "Problems of the Products Material Capacity". From 1971 - assistant, and from 1974 - associate professor at the department of political economy. Since 1991 - professor and head of the Economic Theory Department, and from 1983 - dean of the Lviv Ivan Franko National University Economics Faculty.
Z. Vatamanyuk had traineeships in the University of Michigan (USA, 1992), Kansas University (USA, 1995), George Washington University (USA, 2001).
Professor Vatamanyuk is a co-author and co-editor of 10 monographs, textbooks and manuals, in particular "Economics" for 10th-11th grade students (Kyiv: Lybid', 1999, 2002, 2004 - 383 p.); "Economic Theory: Macro- and Microeconomics" (Kyiv: Al'ternatyvy, 2000, 2002, 2004. - 606p.); "Introduction to Economic Theory" (Lviv: "Novyi Svit - 2000", 2005. - 352 p.); supervisor of some 20 economic publication projects including the translations of the textbook of Nobel Prize winner economist - P. Professor Vatamanyuk is an executive editor of the economics department herald, journal "Economic Theory", and scientific annual "Transformation of Economic System in Ukraine". He supervised 15 candidates of economic sciences. He initiated, organized and conducted summer schools, where problems of teaching economic theory in the universities were reviewed (Truskavets, Dobromyl and Slavs'k; 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2002, and 2003).
Professor Z. Vatamanyuk is a member of scientific union named after T. Schevchenko and a presidium member of economic education SMC and economy and administration for classical universities SMC at Ukrainian Ministry of Science and Education.
