Candidate of Economic Sciences (PhD), Associate Professor.
After his graduation from Ivan Franko State University of Lviv Faculty of Economics in 1997-2000, he studied as a postgraduate student on the Department of Economic Theory. Defended candidate thesis "State Regulation of the Populations Income in Terms of the Ukrainian Transition Economy" in the year 2000. From the year 2000 he worked as an assistant and since 2001 as an associate professor of the Department of Economic Theory.
In 2001 as a participant of a TACIS program "Institutional Help For Scholars of Social Sciences" completed his traineeship in RAND-Europe think-tank (Netherlands). In 2003 Dr. Kholod was
IREX visiting research scholar at the Center of Russian, East European and Central Asia Studies, The Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, University of Washington, Seattle, USA. This fellowship was provided by US Department of State and administered by IREX (Regional Scholar Exchange Program)

Since December 2001 to December 2003 was a Senior Fellow at the Centre for the Development of MA Programme in Sociology at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

Associate professor Kholod is an author of more than 20 scientific articles and papers including his co-authorship of a monographs "Economy of Ukraine: ten years of reform", "Income and Saving in Transitional Economy of Ukraine", "Institutional Foundations of Ukraine Economy Market Transformation: Theory and Practice" and a textbooks "Economic Theory: Macro- and Microeconomics" and "Economic Theory: textbook for high schools".

Delivers lectures on "Political Economy", "Macroeconomics", "Contemporary Economic Systems", and "Methodology of Economic Theory". At the MA Programme in Sociology provide lectures on "Social Stratification and Inequality". Participant of 3-years project "Modern Urban Cultures and Identities in "Old" Cities", sponsored by HESP.

Fields of interest - income distribution and redistribution, economic systems, social policy, economic sociology.
