Candidate of economic sciences, associate professor. Mykola V. Styrskyy graduated from the Ivan Franko State University of Lviv in 1997 (major - "Economics of the Enterprise"). From 1997 till 2000 continued his studies on a postgraduate level at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in the Department of Economic Theory. In 2000 - defended candidate thesis "Investment Process in Terms of the Ukrainian Economy Market Transformation".
M. Styrskyy participated in international economic summer seminar "Financial and banking systems: problems of studding ³ teaching in Ukraine" (Truskavets', July-August, 1994), arranged by collaboration of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine), Temple University (USA) and western division of international fund "Renaissance". In 1994 took part in "Sommeruniversitat Kyiv" organized by Kyiv State Economic University and Viennese University (Austria). Participated in summer school "Problems of teaching management in Ukraine" (Slavs'k, August 2003), that was a joined project of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, National University "Kiev-Mohyla academy" and Temple University (USA).
For three years (1998-2000) he combined graduate studies with teaching in Lviv branch of Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. From 1999 M. Styrskyy works at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv: first as an assistant and from 2001 as an associate professor at Department of Economic Theory.
In 2002 M. Styrskyy received "Joung Scientist Award" from Lviv Regional State Administration. He also has a diploma for the second place at Competition of joung research's works arranged by closed corporation "Insurance group "ÒÀC" and insurance department of Kyiv National Economic University (2004).
Associate professor Styrskyy is the author of 20 publications and report thesis on macro and micro aspects of investment activity and financial markets development. Co-author in educational manual "Economic Theory: Macro- and Microeconomics" and monographs "Economy of Ukraine: Ten Years of Reform" and "Incomes and Savings in the Transition Economy of Ukraine". During 2001-2003 study guides to courses "Basics of economic theory" (for students majoring in enterprise management at geography faculty), "Basics of economic theory" (for students majoring in statistics at mathematical faculty), "Introduction to Economic Theory" and "Macroeconomics" (for economics faculty students), as well as testing material for the course "Macroeconomics" were prepared by M. Styrskyy.
Delivers lectures - "Introduction to Economic Theory", "Macroeconomics", "Methods of Economic Research" and "Investment Theories".
Frame of interest - investment theories, theoretical and financial microeconomics, and economic risk theory.
