On 25 June 2018, a solemn closing ceremony of the 2017-2018 academic year was held at Center Of International Education the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Pre-University Training of Lviv National University.
The number of countries whose citizens would like to learn Ukrainian is increasing significantly every year. In particular, students from Egypt, Morocco, China, Korea, Vietnam, Ecuador, Jordan, Yemen, Germany, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Belarus, Turkey, and Slovakia trained at the preparatory department this year. During the academic year, they studied Ukrainian as a foreign language, listened to courses on speech development, general terminology and specialized disciplines (literature and history, mathematics and physics, chemistry, biology, geography). Students who passed the exams successfully received certificates of graduation from the preparatory department. These certificates confirm that graduates of the CMO have the Ukrainian language at a level sufficient for continuing education in Ukraine.
Delivery of the certificates was held in a congenial and pleasant atmosphere. The best graduates who passed the exam with excellent mark also received Certificates of Ivan Franko National University of knowledge of Ukrainian as a foreign language (UMI) at the level of В-1.
The listeners sincerely thanked their Ukrainian language teachers, Vira Kovalenko, Olga Tseniukh, Natalia Fediura, Kateryna Sosna, Mariia Mertsalo and Mariia Stsira, teachers of the specialized disciplines and all the staff of the CIU.
Graduates from previous years who study in Lviv also came to support their compatriots. It’s such a pleasure that they do not forget the preparatory department where they learned the first Ukrainian words and now recommend it to their friends.
