On November 17, 2020, GlobalLogic together with Ivan Franko Lviv National University opened a new software engineering laboratory “High Performance Computing and Software Engineering”. This will allow more than 800 students of the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technology to have practice in complex programming solutions using modern equipment and the latest software.
The laboratory was officially opened by the head of the GlobalLogic’s Lviv office Igor Kostiv and the Prorector for Research and Academic Affairs and Informatization of Lviv University Vitaliy Kukharsky.Due to quarantine restrictions there were only 5 people at the ceremony.
During the event, Vitaliy Kukharsky mentioned: “We want our graduates to receive not only proficient theoretical training, but also skills that can meet the labor market demands.
Arrangements with IT companies in order to develop course outlines and trainings such as GL BaseCamp, as well as opening of usability laboratories helps our students to better understand how to work in a real projects. Today we are happy to jointly open the software engineering laboratory where our students will get more code than theory”.

The cooperation between the University and GlobalLogic has become a good tradition.They have already created two innovative educational programs: “Software Engineering” and “High-Performance Computing”. Moreover, the company traditionally joins the events held at the University for future IT professionals: Franko IT-Day, Winter School DES (Data Engineering and Security), IT-week with Lviv University. GlobalLogic specialists are also actively involved in the educational process, provide mentoring support to students and offer young people insight into professional environment and the latest innovations in the sphere.
