CAREER

Kachmar Volodymyr Mykhaylovych is a Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of M. Hrushevskyi Department of Modern History of Ukraine, Chairman of the Primary Trade Union of Employees of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

1991 – 1999 – director of the Museum of History of Lviv University.

1999 – defended PhD thesis: “The Problem of Ukrainian University in Lviv at the End of XIX – Early XX Century: Social and Political Aspect” (Scientific advisor: Prof. M. G. Krykun).

1999 – Assistant at the Department of Historical History of Lviv University.

2000 – Assistant Professor of the Department of Historical Lore of Lviv University.

2003 – Associate Professor of the Department of Modern History of Ukraine.

Since 2004 – Chairman of the Trade Union Organization of the Faculty of History, member of the Presidium of the University Trade Union Committee.

Since 2012 – Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

Since 2005 – responsible secretary of the working group on writing the Encyclopedia of Lviv University. Two volumes of the Encyclopedia were published and presented on the occasion of the University’s 350th anniversary.

Since 2013 – Chairman of the Primary Trade Union of Employees of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

2014– Chairman of the strike committee of the University.

2015– Member of the Presidium of the Lviv Regional Organization of Trade Union of Education and Science Employees of Ukraine.

Scientific interests: history of Lviv University, history of Ukrainian student body; historical lore, recent history of Ukraine, post-war history of Ukraine, bibliography.
