The Centre for the Humanities was established as an NGO in December 1996. In January 1997, the Centre became a separate research unit of the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv. The Centre aims to conduct research in the humanities, promote the humanities at the University, new models and new learning content in the context of liberal education. For almost 20 years, the Centre has realized a number of successful research projects, including educational programs, university dialogues, international seminars and conferences, creating an on-line archive of public access etc.
