UNIVERSITY RECTOR VOLODYMYR MELNYK MET WITH THE CONSUL GENERAL OF POLAND IN LVIV RAFAŁ WOLSKI

Rector of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk met with the Consul General of Poland in Lviv Rafał Wolski on June 2, 2017. The meeting was also attended by the Vice Rector for Research, Teaching and International Cooperation Mariya Zubrytska.

The sides discussed prospects of further cooperation between Polish and Lviv Universities.

In particular, Rafał Wolski said that Ivan Franko National University of Lviv is a key partner of many higher education institutions in Poland and, therefore, an active cooperation between the Consulate General and the University is a must.

Professor Volodymyr Melnyk pointed out that long-term cooperation between the University and Polish partners brings good results. In particular, this is reflected in the active functioning of numerous scientific schools that have been developed through international cooperation and mutual didactic and scientific achievements of Polish and Ukrainian scientists.

“Based on the positive results of cooperation, we must boldly build our common academic future”, said the Rector of the University.

Thus, the sides discussed the results of numerous joint scientific research and prospects of further cooperation. In particular, they talked about updating the scientific achievements of the famous Polish biologist, geographer, physician and literary critic Benedykt Dybowski, who made a significant contribution to the development of the Zoological Museum of the Lviv University.

In addition, Volodymyr Melnyk, Rafał Wolski and Mariya Zubrytska exchanged views on the current state of Ukrainian-Polish relations, noting the priority of further development of the successful cooperation between educational and research institutions of both countries.
