University Scientists took part in an International Legal Briefing

On 4th of October 2020 an International Legal Briefing of the Ukrainian Association of International Law was held by Lviv University employees: Head of the Western Center of the Ukrainian Association of International Law, Head of the European Law Department, Doctor of Law, Professor Mykhailo Mykievych and a member of Ukrainian Association of International Law, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of the International Law Department Ihor Zeman.

The topic of the event was dedicated to 70th anniversary of Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms signing. Due to quarantine restrictions, the briefing was held remotely on Zoom platform. The event was moderated by Alla Fedorova, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of the Comparative and European Law Department of Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

The speakers of the briefing were: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe Borys Tarasyuk, Doctor of Law, Professor, Retired Judge of the European Court of Human Rights Volodymyr Butkevych, Doctor of Law, Professor, Judge of the Administrative Court of Cassation as a part of Supreme Court Tetiana Antsupova, acting Head of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine Olena Lytvynenko. During the event the speakers received questions from registered participants regarding certain prospective legislation amendments and the challenges which our state is currently facing in the legal aspect.
